When the love of my life, Frodo, was diagnosed with cancer, I was beyond devastated. It was the worst day of my life. Like any good dog mom, I immediately had my laptop cracked open so I could google veterinary oncologists in my area. I wanted only the best care for my Frodo, and I absolutely have received that from the team at Ocean State.

The reception staff are friendly, courteous, and always let me know how cute my special boy is. I appreciate how the technicians come out to inquire about how Frodo is doing at home. They also inform me of how that day’s appointment is going to work so I know what to expect. Dr. Alexander is an absolute gem. He takes the time to review all treatment options, as well as the possible implications of each. He is never dismissive of my million follofollow-upw up questions or concerns. Frodo receives a quality of care that is beyond anything I could have hoped for. His initial life expectancy after diagnosis was 6-8 months.

However, almost 2 years later, he is still living his best life: enjoying long walks to the fridge, inspecting all friends and strangers for treats, and snuggling up with his brother, Lt. Barclay. The oncology team at Ocean State has given me the greatest gift I could ask for more time with my Frodo. Dr. Alexander is knowledgeable, compassionate, and all-around amazing, and there are no words to express my gratitude for all he does.
