Dr. Nelson grew up in Lexington, Massachusetts. She received her BA in biology from Cornell University, and then worked for three years as a veterinary technician before attending Tufts Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine for her DVM. Dr. Nelson participated in a one-year rotating Small Animal Medicine and Surgery Internship at Carolina Veterinary Specialists in Charlotte, North Carolina, before returning to New England in 2011 to take a position at Ocean State Veterinary Specialists.
Her interests include neurology and avian/exotics medicine. In her spare time, Dr. Nelson enjoys snowshoeing, baking, singing, watching classic movies, and spending time with her three orange tabbies and two bearded dragons.
